JJ’s Journey
A Miracle in Process
This site is a method to keep everyone updated on JJ. We as a family are eternally grateful to each and every soul that has been on this road with us! Each and every prayer has been essential and please know that our gratitude runs deeper than we could ever appropriately relay. As we move forward in obtaining treatment for JJ, I will be using this page to share the miracle we have already seen unfolding. From our hearts to yours… thank you, we love you, and pray nothing but blessings to you all!!!

A Time to Rest
After 28 dives, JJ has hit a bit of a plateau. As he became more awake and alert, he became more agitated, resulting in him tightening up again. In the first few weeks we saw slow but steady progression, but in the last few dives, we began to see his frustration peak. He is far more alert and aware that his little body is not able to move as it was before. I’m sure he is beyond overwhelmed! With this being said, we decided, collectively with Dr. Harch, that a 30-day rest period would be best for JJ, then resume treatments in a home chamber. JJ may be far more sensitive to the pressure and oxygen and this initial visit has allowed us to gauge his sensitivity appropriately. JJ will not be able to complete the full 40 dives, however, in the video I have uploaded, you can see the remarkable difference between when we arrived and his final visit yesterday with Dr. Harch. We are beyond grateful to Dr. Harch and his incredible team, whom we have forged a beautiful relationship with, and will continue to see JJ through his ongoing journey. There is still so much to come but for now… It is time to get home and get back to our community, support system, friends, and family. Time for JJ to rest after all the hard work he has put in. I think we as parents want to push for any and every opportunity to heal our children, but often forget that REST in and of itself, is one of the most powerful therapeutic tools we have. Just in the past few days, we have seen JJ’s comfortability increase abundantly. His irritability has diminished, his sleep cycle is almost back to normal, and his ability to be comforted and sit with us comfortably has gotten better and better. We look forward to seeing everyone and thank you all for continuing on this journey with us, hand-in-hand!
JJ’s Treatment Assessment with the Doctor in Louisiana
JJ is four years old and had a drowning insident on June 15, 2023. Not accepting the medical prognosis in California, the Roberts family packed up for a journey to New Orleans. There, JJ received specialized treatment resulting in a true miracle.

We returned home earlier this week from Arizona, and since then we have begun to improvement in JJ. This video is from yesterday morning and is the most movement we have seen since the accident. we couldn’t be more excited. Thank you first and foremost to the Lord, for his continued faithfulness. Secondly thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us, steadfast in prayer, supporting us, and standing alongside us.
Step one down! JJ just finishes having his stem cells extracted. We are beyond impressed with Total Wellness Center and Dr. Ryskowski. Extremely informative and this process is absolutely fascinating! Now we are waiting for the stem cells to be isolated. They will then be reintroduced via nasal spray and spinal injection. After that we will move on to the hyaluronidaise injections for his spasticity. JJ is doing phenomenal and the doctor has been so gentle with her approach 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Well, peace was prayed for and peace we received. This is JJ after HBot last night, and as of 9am, he is still asleep, and on his back may I add, looking like the angel he is🙌🏼🙏🙌🏼❤️🙌🏼🙏🙌🏼 These little victories are actually HUGE mountains 🏔️ moving. We live in a superbly busy world where REST is undervalued. As hard as this little boy works, rest is so necessary.
JJs hospital bed arrived today 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Since returning from Louisiana in early October last year, JJ has been sleeping on the couch as his daybed was incredibly uncomfortable for him and provided minimal support, even with propping and positioning. Because of this, I too have spent every night sleeping in the living room with him as well. Tonight will be the first night in MONTHS that he will get to be in his “Big Boy Bed” again. Praying for JJs comfort tonight and overall peace 🙏🥰🙏
We are less than a month away from JJs first stem cell transplant treatment 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 We were blessed to be able to get him in so soon, as we had been told by other families that the wait list to receive treatment is often months to years even. In late January we locked in April 1st for treatment in Arizona. We are eternally grateful to our friends, family, community and new found bonds for your unwavering support. This will be a long journey requiring multiple trips over the next year and a half. In October there will be a fundraising event at Folsom Harley Davidson to help us fund this next chapter and words do not justice to how blessed we feel to have such an event honor JJ🥹 As traumatic and trying as this journey has been, we have seen Gods hands all over JJ and us as a family. The outpouring of support and encouragement has been immense and has honestly saved me on days when I just don’t have it in me. This past 8 months have been a catapult into a depth of faith I never understood before, a strengthening brought about by continued revelation, and a leap, head first, into the “unknown”. But this is where it all happens, when you are no longer afraid, but truly steadfast in knowing His☝️plans a so, so good! #Ride4JJ #JJsJourney “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a FUTURE and HOPE” ~Jeremiah 29:11

In 2024, JJ will need to receive Stem Cell treatments. To do this, I would like to establish a fundraiser. As always, we are ever grateful to the army we have standing with us. My heart can only dream of the joy in which JJ would have drawn from this vision, and I am desperate to make it a reality for him.
